Powder Coating in Hereford
Powder coating is the toughest, longest-lasting way to finish metal, and it’s what we do best. Applied and cured in-house, in virtually any colour.
What is powder coating?
A fine powder of pigment and resin is given an electrostatic charge and sprayed onto the metal, so it clings evenly to every surface and edge. The part is then cured in an oven at around 180 to 200°C, where the powder melts and fuses into a single, seamless skin. Because there are no solvents and nothing to run or drip, the result is far tougher and more even than wet paint.
Why choose powder coating?
- Exceptionally hard-wearing and chip-resistant
- Excellent resistance to corrosion, weather and UV
- Even coverage with no runs, drips or thin edges
- Virtually any RAL or BS colour, in gloss, satin, matt, metallic or textured finishes
- Environmentally friendly, with no solvents or VOCs
- Long life with only the occasional wash to maintain it

Working on something large? Our curing oven is around 6 metres long, 3 metres wide and 2.2 metres high, so we can powder coat sizeable gates, railings and fabrications. Call us to check your dimensions will fit.
How long does it last?
Properly prepared and applied, a powder-coated finish typically lasts 15 to 20 years, and longer again on items kept indoors or out of harsh weather. The biggest factors are preparation, the powder chosen for the job, and where the item lives.
Preparation is everything
Every job is cleaned and, where needed, shot or bead blasted back to sound metal first. That’s the single most important step in a finish that bonds properly and lasts. See our blasting service.
